Client’s brief was challenging; renovate a veg restaurant with a green philosophy having a super-tight budget and using as much of the existing elements. The brick walls and the metal canopy were painted white to give a lightweight sensation while the tropical vegetation create green reflections all around. The ‘facades’, a rhythmic sequence of wooden studs, filter the sunlight while letting the air flow.
Existing furniture (tables, chairs and lights) have been painted and re-arranged strategically in the space. Through time, the lush vegetation will be the real star while the design of this terrace will become secondary. This pilot project aims to turn dismissed urban areas, into green and alive ones.
